About Us

Agape Christian Fellowship is a multicultural church located in beautiful Lehigh Acres, Florida. Planted in 2001 under the leadership of Senior Pastor/Teacher, Mercidieu "Phil" Phillips, Agape Christian Fellowship has always had a passion for creating a safe place for people to explore the truths of Jesus. From its birth, the mission of Agape Christian Fellowship has been and continues to be "to lead people into a meaningful relationship with Jesus of Jesus Christ that will lead them to expand his Kingdom by making more disciples."

This ministry was birthed in the spring of 2001 with a core group of 12. After traveling back and forth from Miami for three months of bible study and prayer, Pastor Phil and his family relocated to Lehigh Acres to focus on reaching the lost people of this city. Convinced by God that this was his will, the church held its first public service on July 1, 2001. We shared a meeting space with Iglesia de Dios M.I. who was very gracious to allow us in as we waited for God to open new doors. Our first baptism came two months after launching. We have seen more than 15 people baptized in each of the past 7 years

In the summer of 2003, we purchased 10 acres of property with the hope of building a ministry campus. This campus will be home to a worship center, a k-8 christian academy, and a vibrant youth center. Our goal for this ministry campus is to provide holistic services to our community and surrounding areas.

Throughout our brief history the members and leader of Agape could say that God has been faithful. We have seen dozens come to faith and many more recommit their lives to Jesus Christ. The stories of changed lives are too many to list and the restoration of families have been a real joy to our entire faith community.

Also, Agape has been and will continue to be active in church planting through our affiliation with Converge Worldwide (www.convergeworldwide.org).

To the glory of God, Agape Christian Fellowship is established to carry out the following four God-ordained functions.

  1. Teaching: To stand for the historic, fundamental, Christian truths and to equip the saints for the work of service, for the building up of the body of Christ; with the goal of attaining unity, knowledge of the Son of God, and the maturity that is measured by the fullness of Christ.
  2. Worship and Prayer: To provide meaningful worship under the influence of the Holy Spirit. To encourage prayer as the believer's only means of communicating with Almighty God.
  3. Fellowship: To provide a means of developing meaningful fellowship among believers: Caring for and loving one another, warning, stimulating, and encouraging each other to lead healthy spiritual lives.
  4. Outreach: To participate in evangelism in the local community and around the world, and to encourage and train God's people to have an effective influence and loving ministry in various contexts.
