Statement Of Faith

Section 2: Articles of Faith

  1. The Trinity: God exists in three, eternal coequal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  2. The Person of Christ: Undiminished deity (true God) and complete humanity are united forever in one, sinless, virgin-born person, the Lord Jesus Christ. The work of Christ through his death served as a perfect God-satisfying, substitute payment of the penalty for the sins of the world. His bodily resurrection guarantees life for all who believe in Him. (Luke 1:35; Jn. 1:1)
  3. Revelation: God has revealed himself and His will through the divinely inspired Scriptures. Also, the Bible is the inspired infallible word of God and is supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. (1 Tim. 3:16-17)
  4. Gifts: The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are to equip every believer for service. These gifts are useful for the effective operation of the work of the Gospel. (1 Cor. 12:4)
  5. Baptism: There is one water baptism by immersion, and there is simultaneous baptism by the Holy Spirit at the time of conversion. (Mk. 16:16)
  6. Personal Salvation: One can be assured of God's forgiveness and deliverance from eternal separation from God in Hell and receive the sure hope of eternal life only through personal trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and acceptance of God's free gift of life through Christ. (Jn. 3:16; Rom. 3:23)
  7. Rapture: The last things include, the personal visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, and the final judgement, the eternal redemption of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked. (1 Thess. 4:16-17)
  8. The ordinances: The Lord Jesus commanded two (2) ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord's supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. These two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 4:5).
  9. Christian Conduct: A Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of his fellowmen; that his/her conduct should be blameless before the world; that he/she should be a faithful steward of his/her possessions; also, that he/she should seek to realize full maturity in Christ Eph 4:1-2).
